Talavera pottery is an important part  of Mexican culture and history. It is symbol of Mexican artistry and craftsmanship and highly valued both in Mexico and around the world.  Talavera pottery is also significant because it represents a blending between Mexican and European cultures. The history of Talavera pottery dates back to the 16th century, when the Spanish brought the art of pottery making to Mexico. The town of Puebla, in central Mexico, became the center of Talavera production due to its abundance of high quality clay and its location on the trade route between Veracruz and Mexico city.

Talavera pottery  is known for its intricate designs and vibrant colors. It is usually made using a combination of white and blue colors.  The designs are usually  featuring  flowers, animals and other traditional Mexican motifs.
